February little things

I can't believe it's March already! Here's hoping spring is around the corner because February was completely snow filled and we're over it. We've been fighting this wonderful crud that the kiddos have been so sweet to share. I'm hoping we are finally on the mend for at least a little while. All I want is some good old knock-you-on-your-butt cold medicine to feel better but can't take any because I'm nursing---and just when I think we are finally weaned, Logan gets sick and just wants to nurse. Such is the life of a mom. We just need a good few days of open windows to clear all the germs out. And spring. We totally need spring.

Here's a quick peek back at our February little things:

In case you didn't hear us cheering, the Pats won the Super Bowl! The kiddos were so excited all day {even more excited that we had a snow day the next day}. We had a Pats Pancake Breakfast and stayed up late cheering them on. What a game!
Logan wore that hat for every playoff game and clearly it was good luck. Also with in a year of each of our kiddos being born, there has been one or more championships in Boston. Pretty good stats.
Logan has quite the touchdown dance
I was Ava's date to her annual Snowflake Ball. It was so cute and super fun. She had a great time and obviously has more of a social life than I do.
Logan has enjoyed the use of a fork now.
Little Valentines
We've been doing a lot of Lego building. I'm all for anything fun & creative that keeps them busy during these long months. Can't you just hear the quiet in these pictures?
Logan "helped" with some projects---or just would run away with the level & tape measure.
I'm in the process of setting up a new homework station for the big kiddos but my littlest friend enjoys rolling this around the house into furniture, walls, people---really anything in his path.

Ava & I got to be helpers in Cole's school one day. It was so fun for Ava to be back at her old school. I swear she was just there! There is a picture of Ava on the wall and she was so small! I almost forget her being that little.

We had a sports party for Cole at the Y with his friends. Logan loved running around with this ball. He didn't care if he was in the way of the big kids were playing basketball, he wanted to be in on all the action.

We've had about 324 snow days so far. It's been a rough month but we're trucking through. Here is the current view of our house from the street. You can see from the driveway that we actually sit up on a little hill. That is a lot of snow.

Ava & Cole saw us on the roof shoveling the snow off so now they are devising a plan to get up there. I'd say they are pretty close!
Logan has discovered the joys of lap sitting and backs himself up until he's sitting on someone's lap. Cutest thing ever.

After being dragged everywhere since birth, it's finally Logan's turn! He had his first mommy and me swim class and loved it! Ava & Cole also started swim this week and Logan was so angry I wouldn't let him jump into the pool. So when it was finally his turn he couldn't quite believe it! He also clearly loves his belly button as you can see from the picture. It's always busy taking all the kids swimming but it is 10 times harder in the winter with all their gear. I long for the days we can just throw on some shorts, shirt, sandals and head out. Someday.

I had a grand plan of having Ava & Cole go on the same day at the same time so it wouldn't be so crazy during the week. Of course it never works out as planned and we added 3 days of swim onto our other activities. We also now officially have all three in some type of sport/activity. It's so busy but I can't even tell you the last time we were actually outside due to the extreme cold so they desperately need this activity time.

For Lent, I gave up Facebook. I thought it was going to be really hard and, honestly, I don't even miss it. I told myself it was going to be diet coke or Facebook---and since diet coke helps me through the day, FB it was! I do miss catching up with some of the mom groups from the kids' schools and family---but it's actually been really nice. I highly doubt I would be saying that if I had given up my sweet diet coke.

Here's hoping March brings a little less snow & more warmer weather!

love.

We woke up on Valentine's Day to no heat. Isn't that the best way to wake up? Thankfully hubby was able to get it going again---just in time for another blizzard the next day. So that explains my lack of holiday breakfast pictures but we had one and it was delicious. The kids were so excited they were up before us. We may start incorporating a start time going forward.

We use those little mailboxes to put little love notes in along with some small gifts. Ava even wrote some little notes to her brothers which was so sweet

Logan gave no cares about his gifts---he just wanted his food.
We may have had a ton of these Dunkin Valentine donuts throughout the month of February. They were delicious and obviously super healthy.
Some pre-holiday happenings:
we put these little hangers on their doors and clipped little notes to them. Logan didn't touch them for weeks but once he discovered them he wouldn't leave them alone.
