Logan William:: SIX months

Logan is SIX months now. Six. As in half a year and closer to one than when he was a sweet little newborn. Six months is one of my favorite ages---all the personality coming out and the new developmental milestones happening make it so fun. And so sad that this year is flying by.

Logan is such a sweetie. He's so laid back but makes it known when he is not pleased with what is going on. I feel that this is a good third kid trait---flexible enough to go with the flow and enough spunk to speak up for himself. Logan lets Ava & Cole know when he is done with whatever came they roped him in to. He also lets us know when we are too slow with feedings/diaper changes/getting him dressed etc. Logan has no problem trying to help himself to any and all food or drinks we have in our hands. He's such a goof and always has us laughing.

he loves disovering his belly
Logan is sitting up so well now. He is, also, all. over. the. place. now. Everywhere. He spins, scoots and does this little push up hop to get where he wants to be. I don't think the kid every sits still. Diaper changes need to be done in less than 15 seconds before he is scooting his bum off to the side, trying to reach the wipes or anything else he can get his hands on. Nursing used to be this sweet bonding time---now he pulls my necklace or hair, swipes at my iphone if I dare try to check my email, and uses my face to rest his feet. Oh and he's bit me. We may be switching to bottles if he continues on that business. He is always reaching or grabbing something {always something he shouldn't}. Ava & Cole are learning pretty quickly that if it's not cleaned up, it's fair game.
getting closer!
it cracks me up how he crosses his ankles while eating
Logan is a total mama's boy. He's been incredible attached lately {he may have gotten kicked out of the Y childwatch during mama's bootcamp session. Thankfully our friend does the class & held him while I finished my workout}. He needs to be with me at all times which can make for a tired mama. I babywear as much as possible but sometimes it's not safe/convenient. He does love the Ergo and typically will fall asleep while I'm wearing him. He loves all the attention he gets from Ava & Cole and does not like looking up from his toys to realize he doesn't have anyone right near him.
more nursing antics: he holds his feet and kicks them up and down the entire time
6 month well visit 17 pounds!
He's such a little piggy! He loves food and could possibly eat all day if I let him. He knows if Ava & Cole are eating then he should be too. We've started on some finger foods which he loves. He has yet to find a food he doesn't like. His favorite little snack is MumMums---he devours those. We have to be quick with the feedings or else he is banging the tray until he gets his food. We are going to have a serious grocery bill when the little guy really starts eating! We are still going strong with nursing but he is definitely enjoying all his delicious new foods. We still do some pureed/mashed foods with cereal and some real food. He pretty much loves everything he gets his hands on.
someone caught on pretty quickly that he is the only one left out of ice cream dates
mmm lots of fun food to explore

Our little man got TWO chompers this month. One right after the other. We had finally gotten into a good sleep schedule and-surprise!- teething fun for the win. He had a rough, rough night when that first tooth popped through. He was just so so sad but some Motrin and snuggles helped him head off to dreamland while mama got to get up with the big kids a few hours later. Sleep is still somewhat all over the place. Some nights he goes all the way through and others he is up once. I've also notice a big correlation between the amount of diet coke I drink and the time he goes to bed. Oops. Ask me if that has stopped me from having one with dinner. Need. To. Quit.
crazy boy at 11 p.m. after mama had 2 diet cokes---notice the blurry picture because he would not stop moving.

we now have a tummy sleeper
He just is the sweetest little guy. He's so happy {except when he's not} and thinks everything is so funny. He loves blowing raspberries and has really started getting into some of his toys. He pretty much loves anything that he can {or shouldn't} shove in his mouth. He is another blanket baby with his love for his Aden & Anais blankets. He loves snuggling with them. Those blankets are definitely one of my favorite purchases---we use them for so much! He starting to really love some of his books. The big kiddos are so sweet reading to him. Of course Sophie is always a huge hit. It's funny seeing him enjoy some of the same toys the others played with---I feel like they were just his age. Another favorite are Logan's giant open mouth kisses. Every time I pick him up from a nap he'll grab my face and lay the sloppiest, messiest kiss on me. It's just like a shower but full of love.

Happy SIX months, sweet boy! We love you so.

Fourth:: parade & carnival

Ava's summer camp had a sweet little parade for the Fourth. The entire camp paraded around the school to patriotic music, sung the national anthem and did the Pledge. They also talked about different patriotic facts they had learned about. It was cute.

Ava & her windsock {which ended up being the only decoration we put up}

We took the kiddos to the annual Fourth of July carnival. The kids are really loving the rides now. I think we could spend a small fortune in rides. I'm thankful Steve is there to go on the rides because mama just can not handle those spinning rides any more.

Cole went on his first roller coaster ride! He was so excited & sat right up front with Ava. Those two were the only ones on it and it flew. He did pretty well until the end when he was yelling "Someone stop this thing!" haha poor kid.

Cole also wanted to try the big slide which is one of Ava's favorites. Again I'm thankful Steve took them on because my tummy does not like those drops. I've turned wimpy in my old age. Cole loved this one and went on a few more times.

Every time we pass the church where we got married, Ava says, "Hey, remember that time you guys got married?" Yup, we sure do.

Beach bums

We have not been to the beach nearly enough this summer. Is it flying by for anyone else?? The kiddos had a blast on their first official beach trip of summer. Logan did great for his first trip, too! We've been to the beach a few times just as a quick stop but this was our first all day excursion with three kiddos. I'm happy to report it went really well. Logan had trouble staying asleep but it wasn't too horrible. He loved watching the waves and, of course, trying to eat the sand. Yum. Ava put her swimming skills to good use---even in the waves! Cole was in heaven with the giant sand box but did warm up enough to do some serious wave jumping.

Happy Fourth

Hmm not too sure why my last two posts were all wonky but hopefully that's fixed now. Anyway. The Fourth seems so long ago! It snuck up on us so quickly we didn't even decorate. Oops. The actual Fourth it rained, actually poured. I strongly feel that it just shouldn't rain on the Fourth but apparently my opinion didn't matter. The kids did get to go to the fireworks. Cole actually really enjoyed them this year! Logan & I stayed home to watch them and enjoyed some quiet time missed everyone else. We also squeezed in the carnival & Ava's summer camp parade {posts to come later}.

breakfast---waffles with strawberries, whipped cream & blueberries

watermelon pops

Logan got in the spirit in red, white & blue diapers. Yes, I'm that much of a dork.
 We celebrated with our annual party in RI with my family. It was so nice seeing everyone & enjoying a beautiful day. The kids were counting down the days until they could swim in Cheryl's pool & show off their new skills.
 We made a quick stop in Newport to take a little stroll on the Cliff Walk & admire the mansions.

 After a nice stroll, we headed to Cheryl's to celebrate with lots of swimming, food & family fun. The kids had so much fun all THREE of them fell right asleep in the car on the ride home. True sign of a good time.

giggles, grins & good times!
