Davis' Farmland

The kids & I had so much fun at Davis' Farmland today! We haven't been in almost 2 years and Ava's been seeing all the commercials on tv so we decided to make a trip. Of course the kids slept in super late today so I ended up waking them up so we could get going. It was hot but wasn't too busy there. We saw a bunch of animals first. Cole was definitely not a fan but Ava did pet a few animals which is a first for her since she usually is afraid. There are different petting areas but there are also animals roaming around. Ava was very worried that these animals broke out of their pens to roam around.

is why I work with children and not animals}

We left the animals and headed over to the play area. There was some water play, bounce house, playgrounds, toddler play area and all kinds of dramatic play houses. The kids loved this area!

We enjoyed a nice lunch then headed over to the splash park to cool off. The kids LOVED the splash park! We started off at the small one to see how Cole would do and he loved it so we moved to the bigger park. Both kids had so much fun splashing and cooling off. I thought Cole might not like the water squirting at him but he had no problem.

We stayed here for a long time---it was so nice and refreshing! There was so much more to the splash park but I decided to put my camera away and really join in the fun! We all were soaked but we had tons of laughs & a great time!
We got dried off and headed to another part of the farmland with all different playground equipment. The kids had a great time and Cole mastered climbing up the steps and sliding down the big slide all by himself! He's getting way too big.

and Ava mastered the plasma car!
We finally called it a day and grabbed a quick ice cream before hitting the road. It was delicious!
{I love this picture of Ava feeding Cole because she totally is doing the open-mouth-when-you-feed-a-baby move. haha}

We had a great time & can't wait to go back. Poor Cole was so exhausted he didn't even make it out of the parking lot before falling asleep!

new shed

Woo hoo---summer is here! Of course the weather has been cold & rainy and I've been fighting a horrible cold/allergy attack but I'm just glad summer is here. This weekend's project was installing our new shed! We finally bought it and nana, papa & uncle mike came over to help us put it up. We're really happy with it. Although anything would be better than the rotting, bug filled one that came along with the house. We moved the shed to the side slab of concrete since it was already leveled for us and we didn't want it in the middle of our yard like the last shed. We ended up going with a Rubbermaid one and we really like it. It's sturdy, tons of storage & held up nicely against some bad rain storms.

our extra patio space was perfect for the new shed

all finished!

Ava moving her stuff in---thankfully it has tons of storage!

We bought an organizer for all the tools and a pegboard for some smaller tools too. It's definitely so much more organized and we have so much storage now. We still want to landscape around it and add some flowers

The kids have a blast running in and out of the shed, closing the doors and putting random things in there. Poor Steve thought this was for him but it looks like the kids are taking over :)

giggles, grins & good times!
