Florest Family::2010 in review

I can't believe 2010 is over. It's been a good year for us with lots of exciting things. We've been very blessed and can't wait to see what wonderful things 2011 has in store for us!

JANUARY

We kicked the year off welcoming our sweet baby boy into our family. We all fell instantly in love with him and he's the perfect addition to our family. Those cute dimples made all the late night feedings totally worth it. Our other "baby" is now a big sister and loves her new roll taking care of her "chubbies".

FEBRUARY

We spent some time getting adjusted to life as a family of four & me as a stay-at-home mom. We celebrated birthdays and enjoyed a snow storm and some nice walks when the weather was nice. Cole smiled his first real smile and celebrated turning one month old!

MARCH

March brought a lot of rain which meant a lot of art projects---including Cole's first! The weather finally turned nice and we spent a lot of time at the parks and enjoying picnics outside. We redid our front landscaping Ava became fully potty trained {yay!} and was enrolled in preschool---such a big girl now! Cole's personality really started showing as his total love for Ava.

APRIL

Our BIG boy started solids and started with the belly laughs! We got to meet Wally the Green Monster and celebrated Cole's first Easter. Cole started rolling from belly to back. Ava turned 2 1/2 and started summer gymnastics. We spent a lot of time outside soaking up the nice weather.

MAY

Steven took some vacation days and we took day trips to Providence Children's Museum and to the zoo. We re did our front walkway and took our first dip in the pool. Cole got his first chomper followed by a few more. We did some fun activities like spring fling and the bubble man. We loved the nice weather!

JUNE

June marked one year in our house! Cole finally rolls from back to belly. We spend practically every day outside, at the park or at the library.

JULY

July was busy! We started with a Fourth/Birthday party. We did lots of fun trips like blueberry picking, another zoo trip, cranberry bog and a fire station tour along with tons of art projects. Cole turned 6 months and started finger foods and scooting. Ava had a mole removed that thankfully was not cancerous. The kids really started playing together and have so much fun.

AUGUST

August turned us all into beach bums! We spent tons of time at the beach and down the Cape. The kids were big fans of the water. We went to a few Cape League games. Ava took swim and, despite a VERY rocky start, learned to swim on her own. She also got her first haircut!

SEPTEMBER

Our baby girl started preschool and dance! She adores both and made her first very best friend {besides Olivia!} in school. I started my first teaching job & headed back to work full time after a wonderful 8 months off. We took trips into Boston, to 2 Children's Museums and apple picking. Ava & I went to see her first in theater movie and Cole said his first word---mama!

OCTOBER

Our princess turned the big THREE! Hubby & I celebrated 4 wonderful years of marriage. We picked pumpkins and went on hayrides. We had Snow White and a monkey for a very cold Halloween. Cole was Baptized and started cruising and saying dada.

NOVEMBER

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the beautiful Fall weather. We got to see Ava dance at her open house and she begged us to start gymnastics again once swim was over. Cole started free standing more and more & gets into everything!

DECEMBER

We had a blast celebrating Cole's first Christmas. We were all very spoiled. We took Ava to her first Princesses on Ice show in Boston and Cole started walking. We saw a Christmas Parade, Fatima Shrine and enjoyed our first snowstorm. The kids are big fans of the snow---good thing! We said bye to 2010 and welcomed 2011!

The kids have grown and changed so much in the past year. I love looking back at everything we've done and all the memories we've made. We've had an amazing year as a family of four and wish everyone a very healthy and happy 2011!

giggles, grins & good times!
