Ava had her first sandwich today---cream cheese & jelly! She's just like me and doesn't like the crust. She ate almost the entire sandwich---lil piggy! That was the good part of the day. The bad part? Ava pooped on the rug just as we were leaving for work. Ugh it was that type of morning! Oh the joys of parenthood! :)
We tried peaches again with Ava and she did fine---no reaction! I packed them in her lunch today but brought along the Benadryl just in case. One less thing to worry about!
I finally had a full day off---no meetings, trainings or classes---and it was a beautiful day, so we headed to the local zoo! Some of Ava's favorite books are the touch & feel ones about animals so it was great seeing all the animals in real life. We even sang some animal songs on the way over [I did most of the singing while Ava yelled dadadada] We can't wait to go back!
So apparently this is Ava's new love at school:
yup, a pop-up toy. I guess all day yesterday she just wanted this toy. No matter where she was in the room and no matter what she was playing with, she'd drop everything when she heard the "pop". She even took it from a younger baby because she had to have it---oh what a typical girl :) I'm very excited that she is still doing so well with her sippies. Yesterday I gave her a bath in the BIG tub. She, of course, loved it. She found out she could crawl in the water and try to pull down the bubble bath/shampoo/body ---anything she could get her hands on. She tried standing again in the tub which led to her first mini temper tantrum :) Oh are we in for it!
Our little girl is just growing up before our eyes! She did all sippies today again [except night time---I'm not ready to give that up :)] I'm so happy she picked up on it so quickly but it makes me so sad too! Today she was free standing so much more and tried taking steps towards me---it was more like launching herself into my lap but there were a few teeny tiny baby steps. I'm amazed she even tried it. I can't believe she'll be walking soon---yikes! It is just amazing how fast she is changing and it doesn't even seem to phase her. On a different note---Steven and I "honk" when Ava grabs our noses. She thinks it is so funny and is constantly honking our noses. The other day at school, Ava remembered this little game and tried to honk her friends' noses. They are not quite as amused. :) Oh, bubbs.

Ava took all of her bottles out of sippies today!! She did so well this morning so we gave it a try at the cookout and she did so well! Yay, Ava! :)
I'm going to completely jinx myself but Ava drank her entire morning bottle out of her sippy this morning w. breakfast [3 1/2 mini pancakes w. cheerios] I finally found a "trick" that works---now let's see if she keeps it up! Yay, bubbs!
Ava now all ready to watch sports---not only does she have the outfits & the snacking ability but she has mastered the "high five" :)
Wow---nine months! Ava has just been growing up so fast! She's crawling and cruising and pulling up on everything she can find---even using the wall and people when she needs to :) One of her favorite games is chasing us around the living room. We pretend to be tackled when she catches up to us and fall to the floor. She thinks it is the funniest thing and gives lots of kisses before sitting back down to do it again. Ava's fourth tooth just popped through---so 2 on top and 2 on bottom! Someone is developing a little attitude when she doesn't get her way! :) I see some grocery store tantrums in our future. She is not afraid to tell you she doesn't want something. Funny how she was feisty in my belly too! As independent as she is becoming, she still loves her snuggles. Our little Bubbs, is talking so much! I don't think she ever stops :) She just started with the "l" sounds too. Ava is pretty much completely on finger foods with a few jars thrown in there. So far she does excellent eating off a plate at home and at school [not that I'd trust her with our nice dishes!] It's so great watching her learn and discover new things---she's really starting to understand cause and effect---we can't wait to see what this month brings!
likes: standing at the coffee table [playing peek-a-boo and grabbing for things], using the walker, painting, being outside, eating, chasing us, giving kisses, shopping [only for her], shoes and using us as a jungle gym
dislikes: not being able to do something she wants or if something she can't have is taken away from her, getting dressed some days [until we tell her how pretty she looks, then it's all smiles], sitting still! even with her little attitude coming out she is still wonderful & I love watching her personality grow

After my morning errands I decided we head to the zoo after Ava's nap. We were about 5 minutes away when the rain started pouring down. There goes that idea! Now we're enjoying this yucky rainy day by lounging---ok I'm trying to lounge but Ms Tasmanian Devil is all over the place. I can't believe she only started crawling a month ago. She is just into everything now! Ava's discovered she can cruise around the entire living room without having to crawl along the floor and when she hits the end, she uses the walker to get to the other side and starts again. Smart little cookie.
Oh and dada---if you're reading this Ava & I spent the entire day cleaning, organizing & packing :) xoxo
Our vain little baby thinks she's very cute. We were reading a Baby Einstein book with a mirror in it before bed last night. Every time I flipped a page, she's grab the book and give as many kisses to the baby in the mirror as she could before I was finished reading. Then she'd do the same thing on each page. She's too funny :)
Ava's school has pizza day on Mondays & Thursdays---so we gave it a try and she loved it! Not the most healthiest meal but she still had her fruits & veggies. It's a nice break from making a full lunch on Mondays when we have to be at work by 6:45am :) I also jinxed myself by saying the other day that Ava hadn't been sick in a while---well guess who threw up on our bed? Nice. Thankfully she seems to be doing fine---just a little fussy today. We took a nice nap together since I had about 3 hours of sleep. I went to Dunkins today for a coffee and had no idea what I ordered---whatever it was it was good! I guess we were lucky enough to have a baby who loved to sleep so we missed the whole sleep deprivation thing.
All my baby signs supplies were shipped the other day so I should have them soon!! :)
So we headed to the mall today---can you see the difference between the two pictures?
